It is a strange time for all of us. Businesses are closing and employees are losing their jobs. In general, the economy is slowing down. But not for long! As we take this time to be at home, there are things we can do to help our businesses. Before long, the economy will be back to normal, and in my opinion, booming!
6 Things to Do During Quarantine to Help Your Business
Read up on marketing tools and strategies.
There are a ton of blogs out there about social media, marketing, advertising and so on! The digital world is always changing so there is always something new to learn. Take advantage of the free time you have to read up on great material that can help your business. Take notes and implement what you learn.
A professional headshot is essential for any business owners. As a pro, you want to look like a pro. Professional headshots set you apart. Going a step further, custom, creative headshots give you an edge. You want people to know when it comes to you and your business, they can expect professionalism. Hire a photographer to take your headshots.
Review accounting items.
You probably have your tax items together at this point, but it doesn’t hurt to review everything. Take some time to review subscriptions, memberships and anything else that is recurring. Is it still relevant? Unsubscribe from platforms or services you don’t use or didn’t get much out of the past year. This will save you some dough too! Cha-ching!
Refresh social media.
Social media always seems to take the backseat for busy business owners. Whether you don’t know what to post or don’t take the time, now is the time to make a change! Update your social media profiles, make sure you have correct information listed and get involved! Social media is more than posting – you have to stay engaged! Follow relevant accounts, comment on other’s posts and be consistent with content.
Get organized and clean.
Receipts, invoices and overall junk always seem to accumulate on my desk. Create files in a cabinet, organize Dropbox or Google Drive, create a system – whatever you need to do to make it easier on yourself! Things are easy to find when you know where they are. Once you have everything where it needs to go, freshen up the (home) office! You always work better in a clean space. I highly suggest an essential oil diffuser. Lemon, orange, grapefruit and blends are my favorite. They keep things fresh and supposedly have health benefits.
Now is the time to create in-house material! Order some slick business cards and create any marketing or collateral material you are needing. Invoice templates, quote templates or any marketing material that is sent to potential clients always makes a difference. Create a few social media graphics as well.
We got this! Hang tight and stay positive. Instead of looking at it as being stuck at home, see this as a time to rest, reset, and relax.
